In this program I offer personalized help throughout the entire process of affording college from when you first start applying until you send in the deposit next May. I do this through the following steps:
1) Education on how to think about affording college with the basis of this found in the
video "Affording College (A Story in 3 Parts)" and in my books "Your College Financial Aid
Roadmap" and "Financial Aid 360: 10 Steps to Affording College".
2) Real time insight into the financial aid profile of the schools you are looking at and where
they may fit in terms of affording college.
3) Explanation and help with completion of the necessary financial aid forms
4) Explanation and role of the SAI
5) Review and comparison of all financial aid award letters with comparison clearly laid out
in the Affordability Index spreadsheet
6) Appealing to schools for more financial aid if appropriate
There is a lot about affording college and the financial aid process that is time consuming and confusing, and questions frequently come up. Throughout this time, I make sure that I am available to help whenever needed. The goal is to make it as easy and clear as possible so that you get the most money with the least amount of stress.
The best time to begin is June but it is extremely helpful whenever it is started.
Especially helpful for high income families
Did you complete the financial aid forms and are concerned you did them wrong? Are you worried you aren't going to get the aid you deserve? Let me review your completed forms for accuracy and help correct if needed. Also included is everything in the Appeals program
This program goes over all the financial aid award letters received to make sure the appropriate amount of financial aid was offered. There are many reasons why the financial aid package would be low, and I do a thorough review to find any and all discrepancies. The most common issues that can trigger need for an appeal are a low offer compared to the student's academic record, unusually high medical expenses, dramatic change in income, multiple children in college at same time and a better offer from a similar school. There is almost always a reason to file an appeal so let me expertly craft one to get you the money you deserve.
My last talk Affording College (A Story in 3 Parts) went very well. It is 20 minutes of essential information in terms of affording college. I guarantee it will be helpful.
